Hey and welcome to my blog I thought I would get on the blogging as so many athletes / runners / cyclists are getting on these now. Plus this is a good gage for me as to keep a tab on my training and so I can see how it is all going. I hope to keep this as interesting as possible to make it worthwhile reading.
So ill give you a little insight of myself, I enjoy running I have done since I was 13 years old which I ran for Basildon AC and Thurrock AC. I came away from athletics a couple of years ago just lost the love of running and the enjoyment of it it. I got back the love last years and was training up for the Milton Keynes marathon which with the training I got injured which I was very gutted, even after a couple of months of rest and ice I still felt my calf hurting even running 2 / 3 miles which I know I can run that so have found it very frustrating.
So now I am slowly coming back but have taken a different approach - I have joined the gym which I have never done, planned to do some classes, doing weights and alot of circuit work - so hoping maybe using this approach will help my muscles come alot stronger. As although I run and cycle alot I need to do other bits to help my muscles get stronger plus stop me picking up any niggles as easily.
So my main aim for this blog is to try and achieve my ambitions in running to get some of my pb's down - which as I haven't had a good winter season training behind me my main aim to get fit for Cross Country season I do enjoy cross season anyway. So I am hoping to get some little races by the end of the summer to get ready for winter season.
I am still only running little miles at the moment coming back from injury so I am taking it very slow as using the gym, spinning , cycling to try and still keep and get my fitness up.
So thats a little update on me for now.
Dani : )
